Privacy policy

1. Who we are
gigapp (gigapp.co.uk) is a marketplace connecting musicians and venues across the UK. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to get in touch about it. Contact: hello@gigapp.co.uk.
2. What we collect
When you sign up and use the service, we collect:
- Your email address, display name, and the role(s) you choose (artist, venue, or both)
- Profile info you add (bio, photos, audio/video samples, base price, address for venues)
- Booking history, messages exchanged with the other party, and reviews
- Approximate device location, only when you opt in for last-minute gig alerts
- Payment metadata via Stripe — we never see or store card numbers; Stripe handles all card data
- Diagnostic info (crash logs, basic device model) to fix bugs
3. Why we collect it
To run the service: showing you relevant gigs/artists, processing payments, sending booking notifications, and supporting you when something goes wrong. We do not sell your data, and we don’t use your profile content to train AI models.
4. Who we share it with
- Stripe — for payments and artist payouts (Stripe’s privacy policy applies to data they hold)
- Firebase / Google Cloud — for hosting, authentication, and data storage in the UK region
- Apple / Google — when you sign in via Apple ID or Google
- Mux or Cloudflare Stream — for video sample hosting (signed URLs only)
- The other booking party — your display name, profile, and messages are visible to them within a confirmed booking
5. Where we store it
All Firestore + Storage data lives in the europe-west2 (London) region. Some sub-processors (Stripe, Apple, Google) may store metadata outside the UK under Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep it
- Account + profile data: until you delete your account, then 30 days for backups
- Booking + payment records: 7 years (UK financial recordkeeping)
- Messages: 2 years after the last related booking ends
- Anonymous analytics: indefinitely
7. Your rights (UK GDPR)
You can request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your data, and you can object to processing. Email hello@gigapp.co.uk and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the ICO.
8. Children
gigapp is not for under-18s. Don’t sign up if you’re under 18.
9. Changes
We’ll post the date at the top of this page when we change it. Material changes get an in-app banner.
