Terms of service
Last updated: 2026-05-28. This is a draft — have a UK lawyer review before launch.
1. What gigapp is
gigapp is a marketplace that helps venues find and book musicians. We provide the platform, payments, and dispute handling. We are not a party to the gig itself — the contract is between the artist and the venue.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter into contracts where you live. Artists must have the right to perform any covered material they offer.
3. Your account
You’re responsible for what happens on your account. Keep your password safe. Tell us right away at hello@gigapp.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Bookings and payments
- Venues pay a 20% deposit at booking acceptance, balance 24 hours before the gig.
- Funds are held in the platform balance until 48h after the gig date, then released to the artist’s Stripe Connect account.
- gigapp charges a service fee (currently 5% of the gross fee, deducted from the artist payout). Future ticket sales carry a separate 3% service fee.
- Cancellation policy is chosen per artist (flexible / moderate / strict) and surfaced before booking.
5. Reviews
Reviews are dual-blind — neither side sees the other’s until both have submitted, or 14 days pass. Don’t use reviews to harass, threaten, or extort the other party.
6. Disputes
Raise a dispute through the in-app flow within 14 days of the gig. We’ll look at the chat history, payment record, and any evidence both sides upload, then decide on refunds or releases.
7. What you can’t do
- Use gigapp to book gigs that involve illegal activity, hate speech, or harassment
- Bypass the platform to avoid the service fee on a booking you found here
- Misrepresent your identity, ability to perform, or venue safety/capacity
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or abuse our systems
8. Termination
We can suspend or close an account that violates these terms, mishandles bookings, or materially harms other users. You can close your account from the You tab in the app.
9. Liability
Our liability is capped at the service fees we collected from you in the 12 months before the claim. We’re not liable for venue safety, sound quality, audience behaviour, or artist performance — those are between the two parties.
10. Governing law
English and Welsh law. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales.
11. Changes
We’ll update the date at the top of this page when these terms change. Continued use of gigapp after a change means you accept the new terms.
